Sober Transportation

A person trying to address their issues with dependency may face a whole other challenge in the midst of their treatment and recovery process. Mobility tends to be an affected area as individuals lose licenses, access to vehicles or public transportation due to their addiction and subsequent behaviors, often criminal. Their access to treatment, legal counsel and support systems can become compromised, impeding their ability to effectively receive the very services they need to return to normal lives.

As an advocate of full access to treatment and recovery services for those you need them and wish to receive them, New England Interventions offers a Sober Transportation program. Sober Transportation allows an individual being treated for alcohol or substance abuse to safely travel to and from necessary locations in the company of a designated driver. Locations may include the offices of legal counsel, medical offices, workplaces and homes of family members.

Individuals using the Sober Transportation program will be accompanied by a same-sex individual to the pre-determined location and transported back home, if necessary, at the end of the visit or appointment. Our goal is to facilitate a need for mobility while helping an individual find reliable transportation in a timely fashion. It also allows an individual to meet his or her short-trip obligations at a time when family support may be non-existent.
